ProblemSolver! SHAFT UPGRADE KIT for Coats brand Wheel Balancers with 28mm diameter shafts.
Many older Coats brand balancers had a 28mm diameter shaft that had threads with a tapered (sharp) ridge. These threads would wear down much faster than threads that had a flat ridge. The ridge of the threads is what centers the cones and the cones are what centers the wheel. So worn threads will cause more error in wheel mounting.
A symptom of worn threads is excessive play between the cones and the shaft. This can cause an issue of balancing a tire and wheel, "re-indexing" (re-mounting the wheel 180 deg. turned on the shaft), and having an excessive amount of imbalance in the re-mounted position.
This kit includes a replacement shaft with "flat ridge" threads so your cones fit tighter longer. It also includes a new ProGrip QuickNut and Clamping Cup.
This is one of the best ways to improve results from an older Coats balancer.
