Product Description
Start capacitor disconnect CONTACTS assembly for many capacitor start power unit motors. Also known as the STATIONARY SWITCH for the capacitor circuit on capacitor start motors. This switch is only used on 3450 RPM motors.
The most common symptom of a bad switch is that the motor "hums" but does not start. This could be an intermittent problem. The contacts get burnt over time and don't close the capacitor circuit on motor start. This switch is installed under the top motor cover on the power unit motor.
CAUTION: Disconnect and lock out the power to the power unit before you attempt to service it.
CAUTION: Do not remove the motor cover screws unless the entire power unit is supported at the bottom of the tank. On many power units, the screws hold the entire motor together and the bottom of the motor - pump - and tank can fall when the screws are removed.
